Sprayed in June 2023 and ready to sail now, for the quick deciders!!! € 32,500 speedboat bottom and plus 40 hp
Steelfish has been designing aluminum sloops for many years with an eye for original design, usability and innovation.
Steelfish was the first brand that started to build fast sailing sloops in aluminum according to a developed concept. Now stop applying large diesel engines to sail fast, and applying efficient outboard engines required a new approach than was usual. Previously, those planer wings were attached to the hull with support rods. This innovative approach to actually create a speedboat bottom under a sloop was a golden touch. All this was necessary because I insisted on using a 70 hp outboard motor as propulsion. Cheaper, more efficient, lighter and more speed per hp/euro. That first Rescue 700 sailed 50 km p/h with a 70 hp Suzuki outboard motor, for that time an unheard of achievement.
The application of a heavy 40 hp outboard motor under the aft deck in combination with this innovative underwater hull for sloops is now widely imitated. Now it seems quite common to design and build a fast sailing sloop with a heavy 40 hp outboard motor in a rear bun in this way, but Steelfish applied this concept successfully for the first time with the Rescue 700 in the 2008/2009 season, and we are proud of that.
In the meantime, many years have gone by and there are many Steelfish sloops sailing all over the Netherlands; you can find a Steelfish in almost every canal in Amsterdam, something we at Steelfish never imagined when we built the first MK9 with which you could wakeboard with a 400 hp outboard under the aft deck (20 km/hour). Fun really was to sail out a fat primal sloop with diesel.
The perfect size sloop 9 meters for a (big) family. Have a nice terrace on the water or hang person behind it with a wakeboard or fun band. After sailing, everything can be stored very easily. Fast planing distances or relaxed anchoring along the reeds, and your day can't go wrong. Enjoying a maintenance-free sturdy boat is what Steelfish guarantees.
There is a tiller extension attached to the rudder so you can sit further away from the tiller. The rudder is therefore easy to operate when you are sitting or standing out of reach of the tiller.
This model has tremendous lateral rudder pressure so it can almost turn on its axis in a narrow ditch. Especially when combined with the bow propeller which feels nice and strong. The tiller spar is extra extended with a stainless steel tiller extension.
This stick is attached to the top of the rudder blade and offers more freedom of movement in the cockpit than a steering wheel. In addition, it acts as a kind of lever, requiring less muscle power. The well-dostable movements also allow more precise steering....
The heel is like an extension on the underside of the keel. In this extension, the lower bearing of the rudder stock is placed so that the rudder gets support.
Note the pictures with large stainless steel armrests to make boarding easier plus extra step to get in and out. super easy in step.
